Effortless Light Control

Installing Blackout Blocks™

Reversably attach Blackout Blocks™ to the blackout liner and magnetically seal out the light from your window.

  1. Peel the adhesive backing (non-damaging) and stick the window plate to your frame.
  2. Slide off the Blackout Block cover.
  3. Place it over the blackout liner and slide to attach.

To let in light, pull the attached block away; to darken, reattach it magnetically.

Enjoy a seamless light seal every time with our total blackout curtains.

FAQs

How do I measure my window? Plus

Without a curtain rod:

We recommend adding a 1-2 inches to the length and width measurements of your window.

With a curtain rod:

  1. Measure the length of your window from curtain rod to the bottom of your window
  2. Measure the depth of your window and add this to the length.

Can I use the Blackout Blocks™  behind blinds? Plus

Absolutely! If you don't have a curtain rod, you can use the blackout layer on its own by placing it behind your blinds, as shown in our portable blackout option. Just ensure you have about 1.5 inches of clearance behind your blinds for the blackout blocks to fit.

If you use a curtain rod, many customers find it easier to remove their blinds entirely, as they become unnecessary. However, if you prefer to keep the blinds, you can use the blackout layer in front of them, but it may be challenging to block out every bit of light, and you may see light leaks. We recommend removing the blinds for a simpler installation, smoother use, and optimal light-blocking capabilities.
